Andrew Gin­gerich is a film­mak­er whose nar­ra­tive fic­tion and hybrid doc­u­men­tary work explores notions of fam­i­ly, unfa­mil­iar iden­ti­ties, region­al alle­giances, and the bound­aries of fic­tion. He lives and teach­es in Michi­gan’s Upper Peninsula.

Andrew grew up in Fort Collins, Col­orado. After attain­ing a B.F.A. in Film­mak­ing from the Min­neapo­lis Col­lege of Art and Design, he found­ed the Film and Media Pro­duc­tion pro­gram at West­ern Iowa Tech Com­mu­ni­ty Col­lege in Sioux City, where he taught from 2012 to 2015. He holds an M.F.A. in Film, Video, Ani­ma­tion and New Gen­res from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts, and is cur­rent­ly Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor of Dig­i­tal Cin­e­ma at North­ern Michi­gan University.
