
Andrew Gingerich is a filmmaker whose narrative fiction and hybrid documentary work explores notions of family, unfamiliar identities, regional allegiances, and the boundaries of fiction. He lives and teaches in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Andrew grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. After attaining a B.F.A. in Filmmaking from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, he founded the Film and Media Production program at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, where he taught from 2012 to 2015. He holds an M.F.A. in Film, Video, Animation and New Genres from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts, and is currently Assistant Professor of Digital Cinema at Northern Michigan University.
